After a day full of good performances and mediocre crowd response, it seemed like something was needed to really bring life to Rites Of Spring. Enter Keller Williams, a one-man-band virtuoso who just wowed the audience with an incredible performance. "Celebrate your youth," Keller wailed while fans on Vandy's lawn danced and pranced about in playful jubilee - and rightfully so. Williams is unique in what he does, an artist who loops tracks of different instruments to form his own band. The best performance yet, fans all around are united in their anticipation for the last two acts of the night, the Drive-By Truckers and Wolfmother.

The Whigs - Athens Boys Light Up Stage

As it has now become completely dark outside and more fans pile into Rights of Spring, the Athens based Whigs light up the stage with a ferocious performance. Mixing nasal singing and whiny screaming, the lead singer appeared to be having a seizure on stage - but in a good way. With fantastic lighting to accompany, the Whigs tore through a mediocre set of homogenous songs. Regardless, Keller Williams is sure to bring his unique songwriting and electrify the crowd moments from now.

The party is now getting started, fans are standing and dancing...this should prove to be a great night of shows.

Jypsi Kicks Off 2007 Rites Of Spring Festival!

With a real grassroots sound and phenomenal acoustic presence, the band Jypsi just opened up this year's Rites Of Spring Festival. While attendance is still a little low at this point, the energy Jypsi brought to the stage was great. The vocal harmonies are tight and this acoustic guitarist can shred. Jypsi's warm bluegrass sounds and flowing harmonies seem to welcome the approaching summer...and the weather today is perfect!
